Description:
I bought this on Shop Goodwill, because I love the look of it. It dates from September 1956. It came with the original maroon fake leather case. The machine was in very sad shape when I received it. It had loads of problems....a jammed shift mechanism, bent pieces from shipping damage, missing feet, missing carriage lock ... After much work I have restored it to a pretty neat little typer, it feels great to type on it. However, I feel that basically it is kind of a crappy machine; all ultra light portables seem to be a bit crappy and fragile. And this one still has problems with smeary imprint, rock hard platen etc. I don't think I will be buying another ultraportable. But I don't mind having this one. I thought at first I had wasted my money but I'm kind of fond of this now.
