Description:
The Royal Quiet De Luxe was one of Royal's portable offerings. While most QDLs of this vintage were painted with a brown or gray crinkle finish, some came in a variety of bright and shiny colors. The teal coating here makes this one such machine.
This QDL was a $40 craigslist find at 3AM. Fortunately I was the first person to message the seller, and after a five minute drive to the next neighborhood over I was its new owner!
Besides a couple scrapes, the paint is in great condition. The plastic is all there too, no cracks or missing bits. All of its functions appear to work and besides the expected dust and cat fur the insides are pretty clean as well. It's easily one of the prettiest typewriters in my collection.
This typewriter doesn't have any other photos yet, pending a little bit more internal cleaning.

I inherited two Royal KMMs as a kid. Over a decade later I started actively collecting and repairing in 2015 shortly after discovering the existence of "weird" typewriters like the Blickensderfer and Hammond, and finding a destroyed Super Sterling to experiment on.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal Quiet De Luxe on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal Quiet De Luxe By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
