1956 Royal Quiet De Luxe Serial # AT-3410340 1956 Royal Quiet De Luxe typewriter, Serial # AT-3410340 Daniel Chia's 1956 Royal Quiet De Luxe typewriter. 2017-09-19 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Daniel Chia: 1956 Royal Quiet De Luxe Serial # AT-3410340 This beautiful and unique combination of an all original 1956 glossy Turquoise Royal Quiet De Luxe typewriter, in near perfect condition, with the exceptionally rare and highly-desired Royal VOGUE Typeface is where 1950s Pastel meets 1920s Art Deco.

Introduced in the late 1920s, and most typically associated with the Royal Model P of the 1930s, the VOGUE Typeface is a geometric sans-serif typeface that is a clear reflection of the already popular Art Deco style of the time.

Although Royal officially called this typeface "Modern Pica Block RA 280," "Vogue" rolled off the tongue with more of a Modern Jazz flavor. As Royal advertised in the 1930s, "'Vogue' typed letters are smart and so pleasing to read," and was designed "to enhance the charm of typed letters, and to lend distinction to all personal writing." Royal offered this unique typeface (along with the standard Pica and Elite) as a special order up until the mid 1950s.

I live in Singapore and I love typewriters for their history, and for the sheer genius of how they were made!
