Description:
A Royal HH. The serial number kind of describes it - Elite typeface, 13-inch platen.
These are notable for the somewhat streamlined styling, and the big tab key extension, apparently designed to be used with the side of your right hand. It seems like a solution looking for a problem.
Once the carriage strap was reattached, it started working. Had to steal the Royal-specific ribbon spools from another Royal standard.
The paint job is a bit odd. The sheet metal is dark gray crinkle finish, the the left and right frames are painted dark gray gloss. One side has rather odd finish, and what I assume is an inventory-control number rather deeply engraved into it. There were a lot of adhesive residue, but they came off easily with Goo Gone.
It's a solid typer, not particularly exciting, but a solid example of a solid office typewriter. The Magic Margin system seems to work a bit better than the one on one of my earlier Royals.

Trying very hard to be more judicious in my acquisitions...
I like interesting typefaces. I like tinkering with my acquisitions to make them work.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal HH on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal HH By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
