Description:
Basic, well-built typewriter with a light keyboard touch. Very well suited for writing longer chunks of text.
To my surprise, the carriage back is not the only main difference with the SM3/SM4. The keylevers have a different design too. Nice detail: soundproofing felt can be found almost everywhere, even behind the chrome plate at the top of the segment.
The case works well and looks gorgeous.

I live in The Netherlands.
Most common typewriter brands over here are Triumph/Adler, Olympia, Erika, Olivetti, Remington and Brother.
I collect and restore typewriters to learn about their design and to write with them.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM2 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM2 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
