Description:
Yeah, it's dirty. The kind of dirty that just won't wash clean, so it could use some bodywork and a repaint...but perhaps I won't do that. Battle scars should be marks of pride and not to hide. Dirty or not, it is mechanically sound and works just fine. The action takes a little getting used to...it's different than my favorite ultra portable, the SC Skyriter. But in time, this little guy and I should get along.

I fell down the analog hobby rabbithole and have no intention of climbing out. As a child, I wrote my school research papers on the 1946 Smith-Corona Silent that my father used to get through law school. By the time I went to law school, new-fangled computers were all the rage. But I kept my dad's Smith-Corona. In the decades since, I've found a few other typewriters and use them to write fiction for fun and pose them with the film cameras to which I am hopelessly addicted.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes Rocket on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes Rocket By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
