Description:
Found this Baby being used as decor in a shop that was going out of business. It hadn't been used for quite a while, and a lot of carpet lint came out when I first fed paper through it! This typewriter has the leatherette version of the case -- maybe unique to the one year? It has a vinyl strap rather than the usual integrated latch. To my surprise the manuals were still in the case pouch. It was probably dropped at some point(s), but types well enough for occasional letters etc. and was given a once-over by Joe of Berkeley Typewriter.

I really try not to collect stuff. I have had two working typewriters in my life, one then the other. A big one, then small.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes Baby on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes Baby By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
