Description:
You can find a picture of a similar typewriter in the wonderful webpage http://machinesoflovinggrace.com/underwoods.htm.
where there is also a picture of a simiolar one in the scarce black/white color combination.
Is obvious the automotive style reference, particulary in the low aerodinamic drag of its design (possibly, if you make a test in a wind tunnel, this model will achieve the better response, what is silly because a typewriter is not intended to move at high speeds with low fuel consumption).
Nevertheless, they sold well, perhaps because they call a nerve inside the automotive nuts buyers (by the way, the design of what was considered by Enzo Ferrari as the "beautiest car ever made", the flashy Jaguar E Type, was judged by semiologists as a "penis over wheels".
Just a cross reference; You can appeal buyers in so many diferent ways (am I wrong, Mr. Draper?).
The worst part of this typewriter is that, despite its looks, it is clogged and I was not able to get a typeface specimen sample.
Nothing that a little of TLCcan not mend.
