Description:
The second of my Consul's, and also an unusual early-serial variant. The logo is stamped into the paper table at the back. It has green keys but randomly they have degraded in what looks to be a drama with the plastics. I only got this yesterday, and it is still filthy, so enjoy all the dust bunnies you see!
Things I find interesting about this machine are the logo position, for a start. Next, there is this extra panel around the left and right edges of the keyboard. The keys are plastic and shaped like later machines, but do not have the cream coloured highlights for the shift, tab and (i think?) margin release. The removable wire paper holder is missing, sadly, as well. The circle on the ribbon cover might have been a sticker a previous owner put on there, or a dealer one, or possibly it was the Z in a circle? A mystery then. The magic margin levers do not have the red M stamped in them, they are plain. Has metal rollers on the paper bail. Has some liquid paper and mild sub-surface rust in places but overall the crinkle paint is in good condition.
Types fairly nicely, but not as nice as my other Consul.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Consul 1511 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Consul Serial Number page and the Consul 1511 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
