Description:
My brother found this machine in an abandoned house he was helping to clean out. This is a very grungy Underwoood SX I’m guessing it’s a 1955. It’s surprisingly fully functional, just some grunge in mechanics that’s making it stick a bit—it needs a very good cleaning. The body panels have some rust and there’s a least one knob missing from the right side.

Reformed IT guy. I have a thing for manual portables, ultra portables, and any Olivetti machines. I also love fountain pens and all kinds of fine stationery!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood SX on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood SX By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
