Description:
[This typewriter has been sold] The man who sold me an IBM Selectric II sent me a message and told me he found another typewriter. He offered it to me for $36. When he then sent a picture of this fine Torpedo 18B I was immediately on my way out. It works perfectly well. All keys strike the platen in a crisp and nice way, print is excellent, and all functions work as intended. It has lived in a cellar storage for 40 years and because of that there is some trace rust here and there pretty much whereever there hasn't been protective coating or paint. It 's only superficial though, and given some time I'll get most of it away.

I am a Norwegian fellow who enjoys tinkering and fixing up typewriters. One day I decided I wanted a typewriter to write letters on. I bought one that turned out not to work. I got annoyed and decided I should be able to figure out what was wrong and fix it. I did it, but the rush of successfully mending such an intricate machine was like a drug. I wanted more. I decided I would try to buy non-functioning, but pretty machines, fix them and sell them before repeating the process. What I didn't expect was that I would fall in love with the machines I fix so now I suddenly find myself a bit of a collector.
