The elusive 4AR. Nobody knows for certain what was up with this 4-series machine with 5-series keys. This is a five-digit SN, so if true to SC pattern, this is the 773 made. It appears in the 1954 Sears Summer catalog as a "discontinued model" budget option to the 5 series Sterlings and Silents. Maybe it is in the 53 catalog, but there isn't an online one out there to date.
Maybe these should get a separate "Sterling 4AR" gallery?
