1954 Smith Corona Sterling Serial # 5A529656 1954 Smith Corona Sterling typewriter, Serial # 5A529656 LaDonna Qualtieri's 1954 Smith Corona Sterling typewriter. 2023-10-31 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of LaDonna Qualtieri: 1954 Smith Corona Sterling Serial # 5A529656 From an online vintage store, the only typewriter listed there. When I noticed the carriage measurement markings only went to 50, I suspect a large CPI even though there was no typeface sample in the listing. It arrived working, but needing something . EDIT I took this to Matt at ACE Typewriters in Portland. Matt replaced the escapement rubber with leather and changed the ribbon. Ready in an hour! Speech-Riter No. 29 typeface.

I have many pen pals and correspond via handwritten and typed letters. I have a (painful) sitting disability and type while standing- UPDATE! I can also type on an ultraportable I set up on my bed. Typing and collecting machines with different typefaces keeps me busy and happily distracted from the difficulties in life-fountain pens, too, and I can write legibly, in cursive, while laying down. Join me on Type Pals and register for the monthly postcard exchanges. The “Cat Mews†is a quarterly publication of the philatelic topical group Cats On Stamps Study Unit (COSSU), for which I am a column contributor. My cats are Wiffle Wizard and Urushi (Rushi) Blizzard, aka the Blizzard Sisters.
