Description:
Canadian model equivalent to the RS Companion of the same years.
I am not much into painting typewriters. Heck, I avoid most touch-up jobs. However, the flat gray on this one was seriously challenged by some rough treatment. I am guessing a solvent rag wipe-down after service. Which fits with the screwdriver-challenged person who was working on it. So, here it is in a satin colonial red, because that is what I had in the garage. I think a matte paint would work better. I used a hunter green acrylic on the front logo to match the Keystone on the paper table. I 'distressed' around the chrome lettering with the sharp edge of a detail swab cut off.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to any one area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal Keystone on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal Keystone By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
