Description:
Found this in Michigan at an old office machine repair shop that had gone out of business. Types very smoothly, but I find the space bar a bit “clangy†and the margin bell is weak.

A novice collector and "restorer" from the Chicagoland area who is just fascinated with these machines. I'm particularly drawn to the portables of the 50's and 60's. Although we had a typewriter in the house growing up and used one all through school, I really got back into them fairly recently. However, I've had the Smith Corona Standard 8 since the mid-90's - so that is what I call the "first".
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Rheinmetall KsT on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Rheinmetall Serial Number page and the Rheinmetall KsT By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
