Description:
Purchased 3/6/2026 on eBay from original owner. This appears to be the exact model (or close enough) my dad used as a journalist in the 60s and 70s. It's not the same color but it really reminds me of my childhood. We haven't received the typewriter yet - it's shipping from Lawrenceville, GA. Owner's description on eBay, "It’s a good typewriter and works well. I loved it but it needs a new home. Can type all letters." That's fantastic! Picture above is from the eBay listing. Blurry picture below that is the only picture of my dad's VisOmatic.

Started collecting in March 2021 when an Olympia SM3 caught my eye at a thrift store. By May 2021, I was up to nine. By September 2021, my husband jumped in to the pool with both feet and our collection grew to 37. Phew. By October 2022 we had 64. In 2023 we began attending and hosting events where we can share our collection with the community and other collectors. We've sold or given away over 40. Good times.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the R.C. Allen VisOmatic A on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the R.C. Allen Serial Number page and the R.C. Allen VisOmatic A By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
