Description:
Bought this machine last Sunday.
This machine is almost like new. The action is smooth and the carriage return, too. Print quality is nice, though the platen is hard, but not really pitted.
It still has its dealer sticker on the back from the Ansonia Typewriter Exchange, just like my Royal KMG; only two years, and a world, apart.
Strangely, this SM2 does not have any really issue with the carriage as most others have. The only issue I am having is with the backspace moving back two spaces instead of one.
Pictures and type sample to be added.
Left the collection on 5/31/2018.

I started collecting typewriters several years ago and it started with a late 1960s Smith-Corona Sterling portable that I got as a gift.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM2 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM2 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
