Description:
Build like a tank, feels at least as rugged as Olympia's SF (if not more).
Typing action is light, slightly uneven and reminds me on the Halberg design because of the weak return of the type bars. The type bars of my 1955 Brosette return with considerably more force. After comparing both machines I am under the impression that the later model has more powerful type bar return springs.
Good to know: the paper release is activated by pushing down the wire frame paper support. This was later changed to a conventional lever on the left side of the carriage.

I live in The Netherlands.
Most common typewriter brands over here are Triumph/Adler, Olympia, Erika, Olivetti, Remington and Brother.
I collect and restore typewriters to learn about their design and to write with them.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Brosette Portable on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Brosette Serial Number page and the Brosette Portable By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
