Description:
I found this one on the Goodwill site for $1. The bonus was that the pick up was the local office only 30 miles from home. It has a brass plate on the right-hand side which reads "Veteran's House 31424" so that's a neat bit of historic information.
There was no case - pretty common of these larger old machines if I were to base this theory on the ones in my collection, and to be honest, it's not what one would consider overly portable, so it simply may not have one, I don't know. I really didn't expect much and even for a buck, I wouldn't have bought it in the condition it was in when I found it had it not been local.
That said... it cleaned up very nicely, and all seems to be in working order with the exception of the bell and the margin release, but I suspect those would be an easy fix and I'll look into it further at a later time. It types surprisingly well, and there are no problems with the escapement, so that's a major bonus. Overall a good find :-)

I'm Crystal. I am a newspaper-published writer, Novelist-in-progress, blogger, former Behavior Specialist, and an Ordained Minister. I absolutely love typewriters, and am growing a small collection. I have raised five sons to adulthood, and yet, I can't keep potted plants alive more than a month. My husband and I spend way too much time together, but that's okay.
