Description:
Found at a church thriftstore for $7. Was my go-to machine for awhile when all the rest were in storage. The case hinges are spring-loaded clasps so ithe top can be taken off the bottom, but mine is missing one of the springs. I have seen its triplet siblings the Sterling and Silent in the wild.

Got my first typewriter at age 4, a Tom Thumb. Got my first real typewriter at age 15, a Smith-Corona DeVille. Have been collecting typewriters since 2010 when I found a 1945 Smith-Corona Silent at an estate sale. Current count is around 12, half of them are in storage .
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Super on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Super By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
