My interest in typewriters began (in earnest) at the beginning of 2020, when my sister gave me for my birthday a Smith Corona Riviera like she used to have in college. I used to play around on it when I was a kid. Now I have five typewriters, including a Hermes Rocket, a Royal Safari, a 1949 Smith-Corona Skyriter, and a Smith-Corona Silent. My most prized one, however, is my dad's 1964 Underwood Touch Master Five that I was able clean and resurrect.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Silent on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Silent By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
