1953 Royal Quiet De Luxe Serial # RA-2734698 1953 Royal Quiet De Luxe typewriter, Serial # RA-2734698 James Ashe's 1953 Royal Quiet De Luxe typewriter. 2025-03-27 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of James Ashe: 1953 Royal Quiet De Luxe Serial # RA-2734698 I probably wouldn't buy this one, but it came into my possession through family. It's definitely one of the classic typewriters. This is the RA model with the "motor" control. The ribbon vibrator may need some help and it definitely needs an all-round cleaning. Apparently this once belonged to L.H. Pinson.

Occasional typewriter user and 'variety accumulator' but not a serious collector.

My first typewriter was a SCM Galaxie/Classic that I bought at a thrift store in Middle School. Taught myself how to use it without the manual. Used it for school work that needed to be entered into print-outs. I liked the machine, although it is heavy, but I always hated the case.

Recently, something awakened in me and I have been finding a few modest projects and interesting machines to try manual typing again.
