Description:
the fabulous Royal HH -- It needed minor cleaning and freeing-up, except for the keytops, which need major cleaning or rejuvenation for that exuded-plasticizer problem that this era of Royals has. What you see in the pics is _after_ a hearty cleaning with soap and water and then alcohol. It types well, in elite.
That Dymo label on the spacebar is a copy of the serial number; perhaps a way to make it easier to track where employees move the equipment around the office.

While I find all of mankind's inventions interesting, I am most enchanted by the human-scale arts and devices, the ones that can be created (and repaired) in a home workshop or studio; the ones that can be understood by looking at them; the ones that do something useful or stir admiration. Typewriters work for me.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal HH on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal HH By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
