Description:
An antique store find. This is clearly a rebranded Underwood Universal, probably from the early 1950s. The serial number doesn't line up with any I could find in the TWDB.12 pitch Elite type, types OK, nothing spectacular. Looks like the lowercase "a" is a little high. T. Munk has a nice Sears Tower recap on his website in a December 2012 post.

Collecting typewriters off and on for 25 years, more "on" the last couple years. Meshes well with my other collecting hobby, fountain pens. Typewriters seem to find me, I don't have to look for them. First there are a couple, then 10, then 20, then 50...its getting out of hand.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Tower Tabulator on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Tower Serial Number page and the Tower Tabulator By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
