1952 Smith Corona Sterling Serial # 5A450321 1952 Smith Corona Sterling typewriter, Serial # 5A450321 LaDonna Qualtieri's 1952 Smith Corona Sterling typewriter. 2023-12-18 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of LaDonna Qualtieri: 1952 Smith Corona Sterling Serial # 5A450321 Kind of dirty and a little smelly, this sturdy specimen from Goodwill somehow survived without a case. At $22 total, I figured it could be brought back to its former glory and placed in eager hands. Sterlings are well made and come in many different typefaces, this one being my only with Pica - No. 1, I believe. The numbers seem a combination of Billing and Standard style. Sold for $10 2023

I have many pen pals and correspond via handwritten and typed letters. I have a (painful) sitting disability and type while standing- UPDATE! I can also type on an ultraportable I set up on my bed. Typing and collecting machines with different typefaces keeps me busy and happily distracted from the difficulties in life-fountain pens, too, and I can write legibly, in cursive, while laying down. Join me on Type Pals and register for the monthly postcard exchanges. The “Cat Mews†is a quarterly publication of the philatelic topical group Cats On Stamps Study Unit (COSSU), for which I am a column contributor. My cats are Wiffle Wizard and Urushi (Rushi) Blizzard, aka the Blizzard Sisters.
