Description:
This was my first desktop typewriter that I bought several years ago.
Update 1/14/2017 - Last night I decided to replace the platen on the KMG with the much nicer platen on the KHM. It was fairly easy to do, but I had to swap out the hardware on each platen on to the other one because the KMG has a 'quick-removal' type platen, where the KHM has to have some screws removed before it can be removed.

I started collecting typewriters several years ago and it started with a late 1960s Smith-Corona Sterling portable that I got as a gift.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal KMG on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal KMG By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
