Description:
I have this nice Torpedo 20 quite some time.
Got it back then from a young man, who had received this and other typewriters from a colleague, which had inherited them from her father, but had no relation to them.
So this interessting "washed stone of a Batman Typer" came into my trunk for free. ( Together with a crinkle finish Triumph Durable of the first design, that I sold out of stupidity)
All in all it is in very good condition, and I have done nothing to that. The operation is so awesomely snappy, like Cobras that attack on theire prey! What made this impression even stronger, was the fact, that some letters were stamped out. With a lighter touch of the typist it can be avoided.
The mechanics seems to have a lot of similarities to the earlier Topedo 15 and 17.
It is an appearance of a Typer, underlined by the black cast alloy case, but a really compact portable it is not.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Torpedo 20 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Torpedo Serial Number page and the Torpedo 20 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
