After starting a budding writing hobby, I decided to adventure into vintage typewriters. I have always been fascinated by the ingenuity of typewriter companies for making a machine that so easily allows the sharing of ideas and thoughts in a time before electricity and the internet. To that end I have purchased my first typewriter (a Remington Noiseless Portable) and will be using it to further my writing. In the meantime, I am also learning about all of the different brands and eras of typewriters, and how to repair them. With a little luck, and some budgeting, I might be able to acquire some of the more interesting specimens that still exist out there. Hopefully this doesn't turn into Pokemon... "Gotta Catch'em All!"
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Silent on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Silent By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
