Description:
This machine entered my life because I received a phone call from my significant other while at a local thrift store:
"there's a Royal here on the good stuff counter with a sans-serif typeface."
"Sure, why not?"
I broke a personal rule, of "No desktops" because they're hard to find a place to keep.
This machine isn't much of a looker. It has an unknown past, and there's some surface rust here and there, but nothing substantial, and nothing keeping it from functioning as it should. It needed a drawband repair and the ribbon was completely dry.
Fortunately the majority of its grime came off, and what was left was this workhorse, the typeface is VERY small, and what Royal calls "Small Double Gothic"

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal KMG on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal KMG By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
