Description:
Lightweight and quite portable, the Hermes Baby should be a decent laptop typewriter if it were in better condition than the one I had. Still a memorable machine for me because it was my first foray into repairing a typewriter... and it was a success story (see my blog post). I said goodbye to the Baby soon after, I gave it to a friend.

In a parallel universe, I was once the Senior Vice-President of Design (Typewriter Division) at Ing. C. Olivetti & C.,S.p.A., Ivrea, Italy. In the real universe, I'm a Chicago-based casual collector and hunter of Olivetti typewriters, and related ephemera, publications, and film sightings.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes Baby on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes Baby By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
