Description:
Two to make one good one.
This is Underwood's big post-war leap. Introduced in late 1950 as the Champion, and shortly after, they started adding Finger Flight to the model name.
This one seems to confirm the year later for the entire Underwood portable SN run.
Go with the hyphen. There is a Finger Flight wo the hyphen gallery.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to any one area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood Finger-Flite Champion on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood Finger-Flite Champion By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
