Description:
It's a mystery where the serial number fits in, but according to the embossed logo and the round keys, I think it must be an early one. The presence of the tabulator key doesn't reveal anything about its age, as this seemed to be an optional feature during the whole production phase of the Lettera 22: I've seen many Lettera 22's without tabulator key, but with squared key tops (thus being a later model).
Another mystery is the s prefix. I always thought this was the S of Scotland, but this machine was made in Italy.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Scribe on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Scribe By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
