Description:
I bought this from a local library where it had been donated for a fundraiser by Elizabeth Cooke, author of _Zeena_, an amplified retelling of the novel, _Ethen Frome_, from the perspective of his wife, Zenobia. Iām going to presume the book was written on this, however unlikely that may be (in the early- to mid-1990s?).
The Library had it āfor the kids to bang on,ā but the kids just tore out the ribbon. Still works, of course; itās a Smith Corona. It needed a bit of repair but now works nicely.

While I find all of mankind's inventions interesting, I am most enchanted by the human-scale arts and devices, the ones that can be created (and repaired) in a home workshop or studio; the ones that can be understood by looking at them; the ones that do something useful or stir admiration. Typewriters work for me.
