Description:
This was a gift from a neighbor and needs some work. The "h" key is detached and there is some rust. I haven't even gotten the chance to do a good clean with mineral spirits and compressed air yet, so stay tuned. Update: Donated to New England Typewriter in March 2025.

I am a librarian, artist, writer, and co-author of the book Desegregation in Northern Virginia Libraries (The History Press, 2023). I am a columnist on the topic of library technology. If I'm working on a book or an article, I'm at the computer. However, I use my typewriters to make poems, type-doodles, art, and to write snail mail letters. Currently my collection is centered around midcentury models.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Silent on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Silent By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
