Description:
needs tune-up; missing the case.
The type sample was produced using a sheet of carbon paper directly on top of the paper and the ribbon color set to stencil; this produces the sharpest character impression but it practically destroys that area of the carbon paper. Normally the carbon paper is protected from the sharp typeslugs by the original paper and the ribbon so the carbon is spread around a little and the carrier paper is not punched through.

While I find all of mankind's inventions interesting, I am most enchanted by the human-scale arts and devices, the ones that can be created (and repaired) in a home workshop or studio; the ones that can be understood by looking at them; the ones that do something useful or stir admiration. Typewriters work for me.
