Description:
I found this Olivetti Studio 42 online, the price was too good not to buy it.
It was already in excellent condition, it just needed to be cleaned and serviced, which I did immediately.
The keys are perfectly preserved, the paint has some defects but nothing that compromises its functionality, obviously many years have passed for this little writing machine.
The only real flaw is the lack of one of the two spool screws, replaced with one of the subsequent Olivetti but which doesn't work as it doesn't have the same thread.
It also has a lump near the closure of the left spool cover, which does not close the cover perfectly, but it is a problem that I will fix soon.
This machine was later equipped with the symbol "1".
I'm already using it to write and I'm very happy with it, I just miss the paper-holding rods, which are not present in the Studio 42.

I am a typewriter hunter and collector. I love going to second-hand markets to find typewriters to valorize. I want each of my typewriters to be functional, as I use them all to actually write on. I collect Olivetti and other Italian brands, but in rality i like all kinds of typewriter. I'm (slowly) adding my collection to the database.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Studio 42 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Studio 42 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
