Description:
IMHO, there are other Oliver 20's in the Database, and they were all labeled as "Oliver Portable" (just two 1932 typewriters should be considered proper "Oliver Portables", according to their low serial numbers)
In the Database records there are "Oliver Portables", made between 1931 and 1947, whose Serial Numbers raise until the # 122000
And there are "Oliver Model 20" too, made between 1935 and 1950, whose Serial Numbers raise from "over 350000" to "5000000 upwards".
Looks like you can tell an "Oliver Portable" from an "Oliver Number 20" by its serial numbers.
If I am wrong, please let me know. Thanks.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Oliver 20 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Oliver Serial Number page and the Oliver 20 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
