I'm a french speaking belgian radio reporter. I was born in 1970. As a child, I very often played with my mother's portable typewriter. Don't ask which model it was, I don't remember, but it served several years later for my university works. I bought my first collectible typewriter in 2020 : a 1946 (or 1947 ?) Royal Arrow. Since then, I also own a 1951 green Simtype and a 1950 Hermes Baby (whose "t" letter is alterated). I just bought, as a gift for my sister, a 1934 Remington portable model 5.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes Baby on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes Baby By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
