When I was a kid I would use my neighbors manual typewriter to write letters to my Dad. After a trip to a museum and showing my son a typewriter I decided to get one of my own. After some research, I saw that Royal was a trusted brand. I found this one on Ebay for $100.00. As soon as I saw the pictures I had to have it. I love the look of the glass tombstone keys as well as the general design on the machine. It types really well and I use it quite often to write letters and also to work on a personal cook book to have in the kitchen. It is a pleasure to use.

Hello everyone. I am not much of a writer per se however I love old machines of all kinds. When I was a kid in the early 2000s my elderly neighbor would let me write letters to my dad on an old mechanical typewriter which I thought at the time was super cool. Fast forward to 2026 and I was at a museum with my 7 year old son which had all sorts of old technology and was hands on. Im pretty sure you could touch 80% of what was in there. They had a library set up with a few old typewriters and paper. They wanted people, especially young children to use the machines. That brought back memories and next thing I knew I was the proud owner of two vintage typewriters. I did a deep dive into research and found this site. Im excited to become a member and share my machines with everyone.
