Description:
Excellent condition. Types well. The action is smooth and solid. While most typewriters of this age have a very hard platen, this one is still fairly rubbery, which means that it is more pleasant to type on, and quieter too. The paint is excellent and body shows only a few signs of wear (note repaired space bar and dent on top of carriage). It's a very nice size and types better than other 1948 QDLs I've seen. I saw this at at an online auction in Topeka, Kansas in October 2024 and had intended to make a bid. The starting price was $1. I never made the bid and the auction ended, and no one else bid either. But a couple days later I was in town and stopped by the auction house and asked about it. The typewriter was still there and I offered them $5. It was quite dusty but essentially functional. I cleaned it up and moved it to a new owner.
