Description:
Always loved the boxy re-design with the clear top metal rim tombstone keys. I like Royal for keeping the clear top keys so late compared to other manufacturers. I find the feel of this machine odd though; the key actions is a bit mushy and the keys need to be kept depressed fractionally longer than most other machines that like a quick peck otherwise you will not get a good impression. This one needed a heat shrink treatment on the two front paper basket rollers to keep the paper from slipping as well as the backspace lever needing to be bent in order to grab the escapement properly. Otherwise it was a lot of aligning the type and cleaning but it works great now.

I love vintage technology in general; audio stuff, computers, film cameras, but typewriters are fun by virtue of how mechanical they are. I have lately been using mine to write letters to internet penpals as well as politicians.
