Was born in 1968 in Yverdon, Switzerland. Was playing with typewriter parts when I was a kid, as my grand-father was working at Paillard Hermes from 1923 to 1963, designing tools and manufacturing process. A few years ago, I started to become curious on typewriters again, and enjoyed to disassemble and trying to reassemble parts as a side activity. I try to limit my collection to 10 - 15 typewriters that I can restore, get to know in detail and use for writing.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti M40-3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti M40-3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
