1947 Underwood Universal Serial # F1679477 1947 Underwood Universal typewriter, Serial # F1679477 Michael Boyle's 1947 Underwood Universal typewriter. 2015-03-21 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Michael Boyle: 1947 Underwood Universal Serial # F1679477 My father purchased this typewriter when he went to collage in 1947. It was the only typewriter my family had until I went to university in the 80's. It has been in my family for all that time and will remain so forever. It could use a good cleaning and oiling, but it still works perfectly. No keys stick and it is as ready to go now as it was 65 years ago.

I am an IT professional who truly appreciates older technology. I am a moderate typewriter hunter with a small but growing collection. I like machines from all era's. In my office at work I have typewriters as part of my decor and explain the significance of the machines to anyone who is unfortunate enough to get trapped :-) I really am glad to have found this database and group of collectors.
