Nice Silent Secretarial from 1947. Not a unit I pursued but landed here. I like the wide carriage that might come in handy for envelopes. The 12 CPI is not as readable as I like, but I forgot to brush out the type slugs as part of the cleanup. It was owned by a young man that collected as a teenager, and he said on parting to find it a good home. I’m sure it could be appreciated by many in need of a desktop with good mechanicals. Typeface specimen notes the s/n ending in -1, but it should end -14.

I have a passion for analog methods of putting words on paper. I own a letterpress shop that helps to fill this desire, but found typewriters also have a role in producing written materials with a value-added dimension. I'm drawn to working typewriters and renovate them as I am able. I'm pretty handy with things mechanical. Overall, I feel more like an enthusiast with a collection that will get used by design. I understand the temptation to buy them all, but I don't have a store to sell them in. I'm also no expert in repair, so it's a matter of finding the best typefaces and typing feel that helps me to get words on paper. Type on!
