Description:
This M44 was in use in a Pharmacy in GDR/ East Germany. It was sold by a man who liquidated the old store where it standed. It has seen some use, as the worn chrome on the key rings indicate, and the typelever of the letter T was interchanged at some point, with anotherone that is not completely sitting on the typebasket but it is printing ok.
Have cleaned the whole machine, but havent fixed the cracks at the ribboncover or else. Maybe I do it one time, or maybe I donĀ“t. ItĀ“s I question of principle which I havent gone into yet.
If anyone can give me some hints about the production date, I would love to know.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti M44 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti M44 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
