Description:
Rescued from a thrift in 2012 but unfortunately not rescued from its previous owner in time. The left latch on the case was jimmied open; some keys have their labels turned, some hammers need realigning, and I haven't gotten around to fixing those, but I have oiled the machine and confirmed full basic functionality.

Got my first typewriter at age 4, a Tom Thumb. Got my first real typewriter at age 15, a Smith-Corona DeVille. Have been collecting typewriters since 2010 when I found a 1945 Smith-Corona Silent at an estate sale. Current count is around 12, half of them are in storage .
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Sterling on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Sterling By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
