Description:
Beautiful Smith Corona Silent. I like the feel of this one a lot. I refer to it as "spider" because the left-hand platen knob won't stay locked in, so I've had to sort of tie it in a funky, webbed configuration to stop it popping out constantly. I'll have it fixed properly one of these days.

Longtime poet with seven typewriters in my collection currently (not counting ones I'm in the process of selling). I'm a super speedy typist, so my favorite machines are the ones that require the lightest touch to operate. Over the years I have learned the hard way that how light of a touch a typewriter requires is definitely subjective; many machines others say are "easy", I find cumbersome. But I love all my machines and collecting them is sadly addictive (sadly since they are difficult to acquire on the cheap locally, and they certainly take up more space than my knickknack collection. Ha).
