Description:
No. 15 in my collection is a bit of a sad story. It's the first time my online purchase was damaged in shipping. Unlike the usual over-packing I've experienced, this one was taped with masking tape to stop the carriage from moving, two crumpled pieces of butcher paper were put atop the typewriter for 'cushioning' and the whole thing just placed into a cardboard box. Unsurprisingly, the typewriter was damaged pretty severely.
I managed to bash the frame back into somewhat normal position. Aside from the damage, this thing was filthy, and the carriage return string was gone. I replaced the string, and with some further adjustments, I got it to function. Aside from sticky keys, the tab and backspace are not working.
It's a real shame the frame was bent so badly during shipping, because otherwise it seems to be in pretty good shape. The rubber parts all seem to be not too bad.
Another Goodwill auction acquisition, shipped and damaged from Northern Michigan.

Relatively new to collecting. Would like to document my collection.
Planning on sticking to full-sized American machines so I don't spend too much on fancy European portables.
