Description:
This 1945 Olivetti Studio 42 has a not usual light blue color used only a few years later on the last Studio 42s (the ones with the silver front and the logo simply “Studio”). The color of the body and the beautiful enameled logo testify that this specimen was in use at some Air Force office in Milan.

I have been an Italian typewriter collector for many many years. At that time, I loved very old typewriters from late 1800s to early 1900s. After a break of a few years I returned to collect typewriters but no longer so old, I prefer now the design of the 40's, 50's and 60's. Yes, I am an affectionate collector of Olivetti, of course, but I'm attracted to all the other brands from that period, not just Italian.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Studio 42 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Studio 42 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
