It’s a very beautiful standard typewriter, with curved shapes.
The company Olympia derive from the AEG, a very big German producer of electric devices.
AEG was already manufacturing typewriters from the beginning of 1900s.
In the 1930 AEG split the production of the typewriters to another company, the Olympia.
Then Olympia went on producing other office devices also after the war, with good sales.
They built typewriters, both manual and electrical.
Copying machine.
Dictaphones.
Calculators, both mechanical and electrical.
Olympia survived till 1990s building these devices, but couldn't face the change from typewriters to computers, so they closed.
With the lever on the right you adjust the paper.
These are the scale knobs.
You can regulate their distance from the roller.
On the front there is the color selector.
When you type, the ribbon is unwound from one spool to the other.
It also reverse automatically as soon as one the two spools is empty.
If you want to reverse manually the direction of the ribbon you can use this lever.
On the left or on the right.
Also, if you press this lever, you can turn the ribbon spool with the finger.
The ribbon is protected by this cover, in the turning point.
